Lake Forest College women's tennis player Julie Lord was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after dominating opponents at the top of the lineup in three Forester victories over the weekend.
Lord, a junior, teamed with senior Leeza Bodnar on 8-0 shutouts of the top doubles tandems from Monmouth College and Illinois College on Saturday and Knox College on Sunday. Lord did not drop a game to Monmouth at #1 singles, defeated Illinois College's best player 6-0, 6-1, and took both sets 6-1 at Knox.
After dropping her first doubles match of the season, the defending conference champion at #1 doubles and #1 singles has rattled off nine consecutive victories in singles and doubles combined and is now 90-35 overall in her career.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Lord also earned the award once during her freshman season.
