Freshman Alyssa Xanos scored twice the first 13 minutes of Lake Forest's 7-0 victory over Illinois College at home on Saturday.

Xanos started a first half scoring outbreak at the 8:33 mark and made the score 2-0 at 12:42. Senior Natalie Dixon assisted on the second score, the fifth of the year for Xanos.

Lake Forest junior Morgan Henrichs headed in a corner kick at the 15:42 mark for her second goal of the year and senior Sangjun Hornewer took a pass from sophomore Hiwa Brown and found the back of the next to make the score 4-0 less than 20 minutes into the contest. Junior Grace Monshausen accounted for the home team's fifth goal in an 18-minute span with her third of the season at 25:58 and the score remained 5-0 for the rest of the opening half.

Hornewer scored for the second time in the game and the sixth this season at 56:41 and she set up freshman Paityn Tabor's first career goal less than five minutes later for her career-high sixth point of the contest.

Three different goalkeepers kept Illinois College off the scoreboard, beginning with sophomore Maggie Kersting for the entire first half. Classmate Sandra Greco had one save in the next 36 minutes and freshman Aimee Vollmann made another in the final nine minutes of her collegiate debut.

Hornewer, Dixon, and fellow senior Lexi Vargas were recognized before the final home game of their careers.

Lake Forest is now 8-5-3 overall this season and 3-2-2 in Midwest Conference play. The Lady Blues fell to 5-12-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the league.

The Foresters will be back in action on Sunday at Ripon College with a noon start time.
