Lake Forest College women's hockey player Olyvia Opsahl was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping her team post a 7-0 victory over visiting Aurora University the previous Friday.
Opsahl, a freshman defenseman, was on the ice for the first six goals of the night and set up the first three. After entering the contest with three assists on the year, she matched that total in the game just nine seconds into the second period. Her assists came on a pair of goals, including a power play score, by senior forward Amy Budde in the opening period and on a tally from junior forward Lexi Morgan shortly after the opening face-off of the second.
Opsahl is now tied for the team lead with six assists on the season and ranks tied-for-fourth on the squad with a +6 plus/minus rating.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
