Sophomore forward Adia Maund came off the bench to score a career-high 13 points but Lake Forest was defeated 73-50 at Wheaton College Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the Beth Baker Classic.

Maund shot 6-for-9 from the field, connected on her only three-point field goal attempt of the game, and added another career-high with three blocked shots. She was the only Forester to score in double figures.

Freshman center Katie Fagan was next on the team with nine points and led the visitors in rebounds with six. Wheaton pulled down 53 boards to Lake Forest's 39 in the contest.

After posted a field goal percentage of .466 during their first two games of the year, the Foresters shot 28.1 percent on Friday. They were also just 4-for-16 on three-pointers but continued to shoot well from the free throw line, converting 14 of 18 attempts.

The Thunder rattled off 10 straight points in the opening quarter and led by that amount at 18-8 at the buzzer. Wheaton also accounted for the final seven points of the first half and went into the locker room at halftime ahead 35-18.

The margin continued to grow in the third period and a basket at the buzzer gave the home team a 54-26 advantage with 10 minutes to play. The lead reached 30 in the fourth but was back down to 23 by game's end.

It was the first loss in three contests this season for Lake Forest while the Thunder, the 14th-ranked team in the nation, improved to 3-0.

The Foresters will return to Wheaton on Saturday to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College in the consolation game of the Beth Baker Classic at 1:00 p.m.
