Foresters Finish the Season at NCAA Midwest Regional
The Lake Forest College cross country teams completed their 2011 season at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Meet in Rock Island, Illinois, on Saturday. It was the final career race for Forester seniors, including (pictured) Peter Sullivan and Kayla Ahlstrand.
The Forester women placed 32nd in the team standings and the men 35th.
Senior Amanda Glasgow led the Lake Forest women for the seventh time in eight races this season. She completed the 6-kilometer course in 25:50 and in 170th place out of 264 runners. Sophomore Viktoria Baldacci was next on the team in 183rd place with a time of 26:12. Freshman Katie Waskom was 207th in 27:06 and classmate Jordan Hartness came in four places and 11 seconds later and Ahlstrand rounded out the top five in 219th with a time of 27:42.
Junior Chris Wiatr was the Forester men's team's top runner. He matched Glasgow's 170th-place finish in the 277-runner field and finished the 8K course in 28:22. Senior Kelsey Small crossed the line eight seconds and eight places later. Freshman Michael Simon finished 218th in 29:39 and fellow freshman Reggie Mills was 234th in 30:10. Sullivan was fifth on the team and 242nd in the race with a time of 30:29.
Glasgow, Ahlstrand, Small, and Sullivan are joined by J.D. Randol as Foresters set to graduate in May.
