The 2012 season will be the third at Lake Forest for assistant coach Laurie Schroeder.
Schroeder has helped lead the Foresters to a 17-10 Midwest Conference record over the last three seasons. The team was 6-3 and tied for third place in the league standings each of the last two seasons and reached the conference tournament final in 2011. The squad's 15-14 overall record last season was its best mark since 2005.
Four Lake Forest players have earned a combined eight All-MWC honors during Schroeder's first three seasons on staff. Tia Rupnik and Cori Cooper were first team selections and Molly McCloskey a second team choice in 2011.
When Schroeder came to Lake Forest, she was no stranger to MWC volleyball. She played at league member Carroll University from 2003-06 and was a First Team All-MWC selection her senior year. She also captained the Lady Pioneers that season.
After graduating from Carroll, Schroeder served for two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2007 and as an intern for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the summer of 2008. She was the assistant coach at Wrightstown High School in Wrightstown, Wisconsin, the last two seasons and helped direct the Tigers to sectionals both years.
