Jennifer Saylor Resigns as Foresters' Head Volleyball Coach

Lake Forest College head volleyball coach Jennifer Saylor officially announced earlier this week that she would not be returning for a fifth season as head coach. The College's search for her replacement begins immediately.

Under Saylor's direction, the 2011 Foresters qualified for the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament and reached the championship game. The team finished with a 15-14 overall record and a 6-3 mark in league play. She was selected by league coaches as the 2011 MWC Coach of the Year.

Saylor finished her four years at the College with a 21-15 record in the MWC and a 46-70 mark overall. In 10 years as a collegiate head coach, her teams have combined for a 151-170 record.

Saylor plans to continue coaching after moving to Peoria, Illinois, where she will join her husband Sean, a teacher and coach at East Peoria High School.

"I have enjoyed my time here and am very proud of the program's improvement over the last few years," began Saylor. "Leaving was a difficult decision but the best for me personally. I look forward to following the Foresters from a distance and I wish nothing but the best for the team and the rest of the Athletic Department."

"I am grateful to Coach Saylor for her dedication to the program and our department over the last four years," commented Lake Forest College Director of Athletics Jackie Slaats. "The team has improved significantly under her direction and she has set a sound foundation for future program success. In addition to her strong coaching acumen, Jen was also a model staff member and responsible for substantial growth in both our club sports and strength & conditioning programs. We are sad to see her leave but certainly understand the decision and wish her great future success."
