Cori Cooper, Volleyball

Volleyball player Cori Cooper was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after leading the team in kills during a pair of three-set victories on Saturday.

Cooper, a sophomore outside hitter, recorded 18 kills and a .315 hitting percentage in the Foresters' 25-22, 26-24, 25-22 triumph over host North Central College to begin the annual Red & Black Triangular. She also added 17 digs in the match for her fourth double-double of the season.

Lake Forest then defeated Benedictine University 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 to sweep the day's matches. Cooper pounded out 19 more kills to lead all players in the match.

Cooper leads the Foresters with 155 kills and ranks fourth on the squad with 93 digs this season.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
