Lake Forest College women's tennis player Marisa Guggenheim was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in three Forester victories last week.
Guggenheim, a freshman, began the week with an 8-2 win at #3 doubles with senior Aimee Fadden in the team's 9-0 shutout at Beloit. She also won every game in a 6-0, 6-0 rout at #5 singles.
The Foresters defeated North Central College 7-2 and Ripon College 9-0 at home on Saturday and Guggenheim was 4-0 on the day. In the first match she and Fadden edged out their North Central counterparts 9-7 in doubles and Guggenheim won 6-1, 6-0 in singles. Guggenheim and Fadden did not lose a game in their 8-0 doubles victory against Ripon and Guggenheim, playing at #2 singles, won 6-1, 6-2 to complete a perfect week.
Guggenheim is now 4-0 in both singles and doubles play during dual matches this season.
