Lake Forest Edged Out by Visiting Carthage

The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 at home by Carthage College on Wednesday (September 23). Lake Forest is now 4-4-0 on the season while the Lady Reds raised their record to 4-5-0.

Carthage scored the only goal of the contest with 30 seconds remaining in the first half.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond Burton) recorded a season-high 10 saves in the game, including seven before halftime. She lowered her goals against average on the year to 1.49.

Lake Forest was out-shot 14-6 in the opening period but attempted nine shots in the second half, three more than the visitors. Carthage's goalie finished with six saves.
