Lake Forest Falls by One at Concordia Wisconsin

The Forester women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at Concordia University Wisconsin on Tuesday (October 6). Lake Forest fell to 6-6-0 on the season wihle the Falcons raised their record to 8-3-2.

Despite playing against the wind, the Foresters out-shot Concordia 6-5 in the first half. However, no goals were scored by either team in the period.

Lake Forest took the lead just five minutes and 20 seconds into the second half when Erica May (Tulsa, Okla./Cascia Hall Prep) netted her fourth goal of the season. Junior Bianca Greene (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) recorded her team-high 10th assist of the year on the play.

The Falcons, however, drew even less than nine minutes later, took the lead at 74:22, and then added what proved to be an important insurance goal at 76:48.

The Foresters scored the final goal of the contest with just nine seconds left on the clock. It was freshman Lisa Sorensen's (Muskegon, Mich./Western Michigan Christian) eighth of the season and was assisted by classmate Becky Esrock (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School).

Lake Forest's next game will be next Wednesday night (October 14) at Benedictine University. The contest will begin at 7:00.
