Maeve Connelly, Women's Hockey
Women's hockey player Maeve Connelly was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after scoring a pair of game-winning goals the previous weekend.
Connelly, a sophomore forward, scored to give the Foresters a 3-1 lead with five minutes remaining in their 3-2 victory over visiting UW-Eau Claire Friday night.
Lake Forest prevailed 4-1 over the Blugolds on Saturday and Connelly's goal just 49 seconds into the final period broke a 1-1 tie. It was her third goal of the season.
They were the first game-winning goals of her career.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Connelly was also named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week on Tuesday.
