Nick Simons is in his first season as a member of the Forester coaching staff. He will work with the team’s guard, coordinate the staff’s film and scouting efforts, and be involved in recruiting.
Simons comes to Lake Forest after a season as the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He was also a graduate assistant for the Bulldogs each of the last two years. Gonzaga was 60-10 and claimed back-to-back West Coast Conference regular season and tournament titles during his time with the program.
He also served as the head coach of an eighth-grade boys team in Spokane last winter.
Simons is a 2008 graduate of Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport administration. He also minored in coaching. In May of 2011 he added a master of arts degree in sport and athletic administration from Gonzaga.
Simons and his wife Rachelle, a department assistant in the College’s Health & Wellness Center, reside in Lake Forest.
