Matt Perry Named MWC Performer of the Week
Lake Forest College diver Matt Perry was named Midwest Conference Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week on Tuesday after finishing first off both boards in a dual meet victory over Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday.
Perry, a junior, won the 3-meter competition with a career-high 257.65 points. It was also the best 6-dive score turned in by a Midwest Conference diver this season.
Perry also prevailed with another career-best performance off the 1-meter board, where his 264.20 points were less than 11 shy of the minimum standard to be eligible for selection to the NCAA Division III Championship Meet.
The runner-up in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competition at last year's MWC Championships, Perry will enter the 2012 conference meet ranked first in the league off the 3-meter board and second in the 1-meter event.
