Eight Forester Spring Athletes Named Academic All-MWC
The Midwest Conference announced its Academic All-MWC honorees for the spring of 2011 on Wednesday. Lake Forest College had six members of the softball team and a pair of men's tennis players earn the honor.

Three Foresters Named All-MWC South, Pendegraft Division's Co-Player of the Year
The Midwest Conference released the 2011 All-MWC Softball Teams on Thursday and three Lake Forest sophomores made the list. Aubrey Pendegraft, Ashley Cuthbert, and Kelly Chesnut earned All-MWC South honors and Pendegraft was named the division's Co-Player of the Year.

Lake Forest Eliminated from MWC Tournament
The Forester softball team was defeated 3-2 by host Ripon College and 9-1 in five innings by Monmouth College at the double-elimination Midwest Conference Tournament on Friday. Junior Danielle Gore had three base hits and a run scored on the day.

The Lake Forest College softball team won 13-6 and 11-2 in six innings at Knox College on Tuesday to clinch a spot in the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament. Freshman Sammie Zender's first career home run was among the Foresters' program record five round-trippers in the opener.

Foresters Post Pair of Convincing Victories at Grinnell
The Lake Forest College softball team won 15-2 in five innings and 8-0 in six at Grinnell College on Saturday. Forester freshman Mindy Runge had four base hits and scored six runs in the doubleheader and sophomore Kelly Chesnut struck out a career-high nine batters in game two.

The Lake Forest College softball team routed visiting Monmouth College 7-1 in the opener of a doubleheader on Sunday before falling 4-3 in game two. The first six batters in the Foresters' lineup were 19-for-38 on the day, including a 5-for-7 performance by sophomore Aubrey Pendegraft.

The Lake Forest College softball team hosted and defeated Illinois College 10-2 on Saturday. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to weather. Forester junior Danielle Gore was 3-for-3 and drove in five runs in the contest.

Foresters Take Three of Five at MWC Classic
The Lake Forest College softball team defeated Carroll University 12-5, Lawrence University 14-5, and Beloit College 8-3 on Saturday at the Midwest Conference Classic. However, the Foresters were defeated 11-3 by Ripon College and 5-0 by St. Norbert College on Sunday. Junior Leslie Harshey and sophomore Aubrey Pendegraft combined for 21 base hits and 16 RBI on the weekend.

The Foresters fell 1-0 to the United States Coast Guard Academy before coming back for a 7-6 victory over Greensboro College. Freshman second baseman Sam Ritsema had two base hits, including a grand slam, in the victory.
