Men's tennis player John Snider was named Forester Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Thursday for his performance at the Midwest Conference Championships over the weekend.
Snider, a sophomore, was the league's runner-up at #4 singles on Saturday. He defeated the #4 player from Carroll University 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals and knocked off his counterpart from Cornell College 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals. He was then edged out 6-8, 6-2, 7-5 by Grinnell College in the championship match.
Playing at #2 doubles on Sunday, Snider and freshman Dragan Trivanovic fell in the quarterfinals but came back to win the consolation bracket with victories against Cornell and Ripon College.
Lake Forest finished fifth at the meet, one spot better than last year.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Snider also earned the award on April 10.
