Foresters Lose to Monmouth 6-3 in MWC Match
Junior John Adams and sophomore Ryan Kreis each picked up victories at second and first singles respectively and Adams teamed with senior Elliot Muth for a win at second doubles but it was not enough as Lake Forest lost to Monmouth 6-3 in men's tennis on Friday.
The Foresters (6-8, 1-2 MWC) lost a few close matches at first doubles, third singles and sixth singles.
Kreis defeated Monmouth's Chris France at first singles by scores of 6-0, 7-5 while Adams won his match over David Johnson in three sets 5-7, 6-0, 7-5. Monmouth won the remainder of the four singles matches however, including three set matches at third and sixth singles.
In doubles play, Adams teamed with Muth to win 8-5 at second doubles but the top doubles team of Kreis and sophomore Anthony Warren lost 9-7.
The Foresters are back in action on Thursday, April 12 with a home match against Midwest Conference foe Knox College at 4 p.m.
