Lake Forest Defeats Ursinus to Raise Record to 5-1

The Forester men's tennis team defeated Ursinus College 8-1 Tuesday evening (March 9) and is now 5-1 on the season. The Bears fell to 0-3.

Lake Forest won all three doubles matches by a total of just nine games. Juniors Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and Elliot Muth (New York, N.Y./Hill School) prevailed 8-6 at #1 and senior Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) and junior Chris Paterakos (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) won by the same score at #2. Freshmen John Adams (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) and Kevin Lasky (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) posted an 8-3 victory at #3.

The doubles victory by Campagna was the 48th of his career, tying the program record established by Andrew Fretter in 2009.

Flaksman also won at the top spot in the singles lineup, defeating the best player from Ursinus 6-2, 6-4. Muth triumphed 6-1, 6-2 at #2 and Adams lost just two games in both sets at #3. Campagna won 6-3, 6-0 at #4 and Paterakos defeated his counterpart 6-3, 6-0 at #5.

Next on the Foresters' Spring Break schedule is a match against Colby-Sawyer College Wednesday (March 10) at 4:00 p.m. (EST).
