Mahir Mameledzija Named MWC Offensive Performer of the Week
Lake Forest College men's soccer player Mahir Mameledzija was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in the team's 3-0 victory over Millikin University and 1-1 tie with Monmouth College.
Mameledzija, a sophomore forward, scored the first goal in Wednesday's blanking of Millikin. It was his fourth official game-winning goal of the season and ninth in the last two years. He also assisted on both of the Foresters other scores in the game.
Lake Forest took the early lead on Mameledzija's second goal of the week against Monmouth.
Mameledzija leads the Foresters with 10 goals and 24 points this season.
Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Mameledzija also earned the award once last season.
