Mahir Mameledzija, Men's Soccer
Men's soccer player Mahir Mameledzija was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after scoring two goals and assisting on another during a pair of 2-1 victories.
Mameledzija, a sophomore forward, brought Lake Forest back from a 1-0 deficit with a pair of second-half goals at Marian University on Saturday. It was his fourth career two-goal game.
On Tuesday the Foresters trailed host Benedictine University 1-0 at halfitme before Mameledzija assisted on a goal to tie the score. Lake Forest went on to win its fourth one-goal game of the season.
Mameledzija leads the 5-0-0 Foresters with four goals and nine points this season.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Mameledzija also earned the award once last year.
