Kerry Van Malderghem joined the Forester staff as Program Assistant in September of 2011.
Van Malderghem comes to Lake Forest from Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y. where she worked as a Secretary in the Office of Alumni Relations for four years. She served as the site administrator for the alumni online community, and was responsible for budget and database management, compiling the monthly e-newsletter, social media, catering and room reservations, and organized and supervised a 20-person student staff during Reunion weekend. She contributed articles to the alumni magazine Connections as well as produced two 'Day in the Life' videos that appeared on the Nazareth College homepage. Van Malderghem received her master's degree in human resource management from Nazareth in 2008.
In order to remain active in sports, Van Malderghem spent three years as a part-time sports reporter at Rochester's daily newspaper the Democrat and Chronicle. She contributed columns to the college page and collected and disseminated information on area high school teams.
A 1999 graduate of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. with a bachelor's degree in English and a concentration in communications, Van Malderghem spent four years at Colgate University as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. She worked with the nationally ranked men's ice hockey team in addition to the field hockey, women's volleyball, men's golf and men's and women's crew programs.
Prior to working at Colgate, Van Malderghem spent a year as the Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Northeast-10 Conference (Division II) and a year as a full-time intern in the media relations office at the University of New Hampshire (Division I).
